Hi Prabha, Thanks! Glad you liked it.

For determining the thresholds, I looked at the price you pay for a commitment tier and divide that with the amount of data you get out of it. Next, I compare this with the previous tier.

Example: for a 100GB commitment tier on Sentinel, you pay around € 117,-.(list price in West Europe at the time of writing) Whereas PerGB would've cost you € 2,34 per GB. This means that if you ingest more than 50GB per day, you already benefit from a 100GB commitment tier. (51 x € 2,34 = € 119,34 > € 117,-)

It's important to note however that extra GBs of ingestion you go over the commitment tier, are charged by the per GB rate for that tier. So if you ingest 110GB on a 100GB commitment tier, you pay € 1,17 per GB for those 10 extra GBs.

Please note that all of the numbers above might be different in your scenario, due to the fact that you're using a different region or have existing agreements with Microsoft about discounts.

Fill in the prices YOU pay in the Excel sheet to automatically determine the thresholds for your environment. Next, adjust these thresholds in the PowerShell script accordingly.

I noticed that I forgot to create a link to the Excel sheet in my Github repo. This is fixed now. So please take a close look at the Excel sheet if you like. And also take a look at closer look the pricing page from Microsoft.
